Biography

An equity-focused educator with expertise in public sector communications, book history, and gothic fiction.

I am a health educator at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, where I develop educational materials and lead workshops on diverse topics in environmental and occupational health communication.

Teaching:

My current teaching position is with Concordia University Wisconsin. I formerly taught at Milwaukee Area Technical College, Marquette University, Milwaukee Public Schools, and Baltimore City Public Schools.

I am trained in special education inclusion and accessibility, and believe all students can learn given equitable instruction. As an anti-racist, LGBTQ+ allied educator I welcome all students, audiences, and colleagues, and will advocate for them.

Book History Experience:

I have studied book history at Oxford University’s summer school, and at the Rare Book School at the University of Virginia. My dissertation research involved archival and rare books collection research at the British Library, the Bodleian, the New York Public Library, the University of Virginia’s Albert & Shirley Small Special Collections, and the Newberry Library.

Gothic Fiction:

I began my studies with Diane Long Hoeveler, and am a member of the International Gothic Association.
